Douglas E. Goldman, Chairman

Doug Goldman’s accomplishments span a variety of world class commercial, philanthropic and career interests.

As an entrepreneur, Doug’s early business and technology contributions to Certain Software started the company down the path to becoming the leading provider of solutions to the event and meeting industry. Today, Certain serves over 1,800 customers and 8 million attendees around the globe.

As the founder of Certain Software, Doug’s entrepreneurial drive and spirit can be traced to his family history as a descendant of Levi Strauss, who invented the blue jean and spawned one of the world’s great brands. Doug’s experience as a technology industry entrepreneur are rooted in his role as the founder and chief architect of a computerized research center for Jewish genealogy at the Museum of the Diaspora in Tel-Aviv.

As a philanthropist, Doug has served on the boards of dozens of national, international and local organizations.

Doug currently serves on the board of the Goldman School of Public Policy and the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, the Harold Hartog School of Government and Policy at Tel-Aviv University, the Goldman Environmental Foundation, and the Goldman Prize Jury. He also serves as President of the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund which makes valuable contributions to a variety of fields including youth, civic affairs, civil and human rights, education, environment and social and Jewish affairs and human services. As Chairman of the Stern Grove Festival Association, the oldest annual free concert series in the United States Doug spearheaded a stunning, award-winning $15 million renovation of the Sigmund Stern Grove in San Francisco.

Doug also has an extensive background in medicine. Earlier in his career, Doug became a board-certified emergency physician and practiced at Mount Zion Hospital & Medical Center and Marshal Hale Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. He also served as the Medical Director of the Emergency Medical Services Agency for the City and County of San Francisco. As an expert in emergency medicine, EMS and pre-hospital care, Doug is the only emergency physician to have served on the San Francisco Fire Commission.

Doug received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley and earned his M.D. from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University in Israel.

Peter Micciche, CEO

Peter Micciche, Chief Executive Officer

Peter Micciche serves as Certain’s President and CEO responsible for the Company’s vision, strategy, and global operations. He has extensive executive management and board level experience in public and private software companies, including roles as president of Cognos Corp. the leading business intelligence vendor (acquired by IBM); CEO of NativeMinds, Inc. (acquired by Verity and now Autonomy); and CEO of Kinecta Corp. (acquired by Stellent and now Oracle). In addition, Peter served as a director of Centura, Inc. a NASDAQ traded company.

In addition to his experience running technology companies, Peter also brings a wealth of experience from other senior executive roles. He served as senior vice president of sales, at Americas for Nuance Communications Inc., a $1 billion provider of speech recognition solutions, and was senior vice-president of sales for ChannelPoint Inc., a leading provider of solutions for the financial services and insurance industry. Peter was also vice president and general manager of ASK/INGRES, a $500M business software company where he was responsible for the North American applications, data base business as well as global customer service.

Peter was also an advisor to venture capital and private equity firms as well as chief executive of enterprise software and Web 2.0 companies, providing guidance on raising capital and strategy.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Boston College and an MBA degree from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.

Aleks Rabrenovich, Chief Financial Officer

Aleks Rabrenovich, Chief Financial Officer

Aleks Rabrenovich is responsible for Certain’s finance, accounting, human resources, and legal functions. He brings 25 years of private and public company finance experience to Certain, including venture capital backed and Fortune 500 organizations.

Prior to joining Certain, Aleks was Chief Financial Officer at Venturi Wireless, a venture-capital backed supplier of data network optimization solutions to mobile operators world-wide. During his 6 years at Venturi, Aleks raised $50 million of debt and equity capital; negotiated complex supply contracts with mobile operators such as Verizon Wireless, Reliance Communications, Tata Teleservices; and negotiated critical offshore outsourcing agreements with strategic suppliers. Before joining Venturi Wireless, Aleks served as Chief Financial Officer at NativeMinds, a privately-held natural language search company where he was instrumental in negotiating and completing the acquisition of NativeMinds by Verity, Inc. (now Autonomy). He also held various financial management positions at Corio, (acquired by IBM), Navigation Technologies (acquired by Nokia), The Ask Group (acquired by Computer Associates), and Compaq Computer in Munich, Germany (acquired by Hewlett-Packard).

Aleks holds an MBA from San Jose State University.

Bob Hickey, Vice President, Global Sales

Bob Hickey, Vice President, Global Sales

As Vice President of Global Sales, Bob drives the strategy for the company’s growing worldwide sales organization, as well as all new initiatives designed to meet demand for Certain’s cloud-based events applications with integrated mobile, social and virtual features.

Bob has over 20 years of sales & sales management experience. He spent the last 10 years with early stage data protection and archiving companies; Atempo & EVault. As Senior Vice President of Sales at EVault an early stage cloud storage service provider he was responsible for leading the sales organization from inception to acquisition by Seagate Services. While at Atempo, he led the company’s strategy around Big Data and solidified them as a leader in media rich archiving. Bob has also spent time with early stage Telecommunications companies; Telco Communications Group, Allnet Communications, and spent the early part of his career with AT&T.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the State University of New York at Oswego.

John Correia, Vice President, Global Services

John Correia, Vice President Global Services

As Vice President, Global Services, John is responsible for worldwide professional services and product support. John Correia has been at the forefront of professional services and operational management for more than 25 years, where he held various senior management positions responsible for shaping the software as a service (SaaS) industry.

John joins Certain from Phoenix Technologies, where he served as General Manager and Vice President of Core Engineering and Services and was responsible for leading a global team of over 300 professionals delivering new SaaS services. Before that, John served as Vice President, Strategic Services with CoWare (acquired by Synopsys) where he had worldwide responsibility for all strategic consulting services for Tier 1 customers including Sony, Samsung, Motorola and others.

John has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.

Tara Thomas, Vice President, Marketing

Tara Thomas, Vice President, Global Marketing

As Vice President of Global Marketing for Certain Software, Inc., Tara is responsible for all marketing activities, including branding, events, social media, public relations, communications, strategy, and operations across Certain’s worldwide offices.

Her background in the marketing of technology applications and online services spans a broad set of technologies including software-as-a-service, B2B, enterprise, financial services, publishing, real estate, and automotive markets. She has over 15 years of expertise managing strategic event marketing programs for companies including The Television Bureau of Advertising, Oracle, IPIX and The Cobalt Group, a leader in the automotive marketing space. Most recently at Cobalt, Thomas oversaw a myriad of trade, corporate meetings and incentive events that were essential to Cobalt’s growth.

Tara holds a BA in English and Communications from Lebanon Valley College.
