Senior Product Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA - HQ

Description:

The Senior Product Manager will create and implement product direction, manage the product roadmap, product requirements, and product release, working closely with the product, marketing and sales organizations. The broad scope of responsibilities includes collecting and prioritizing product requirements, product roadmapping, and managing products throughout the entire product life cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Market research and product requirements collection and prioritization, leading product relationships with visionary customers and prospects
  • Product requirements documentation and prioritization
  • Work with R&D organization throughout product lifecycle and manage product releases

Project Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA - HQ

Description:

As a Project Manager, you will fill a crucial role for Certain Software as a key team member on the Professional Services team responsible for the developing and managing all incoming business projects. This position acts as a liaison between the business users, Implementation Managers. The project manager's overall responsibility is for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure of a customer project.

Responsibilities:

  • To develop a sound knowledge of Certain Software suite of products and how they are used in the industry.
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
  • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Manages project budget.
  • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
  • Sets and manages client expectations.
  • Effectively conveys our message in both written and verbal business development discussions.

QA Engineer Internship

Location: San Francisco, CA - HQ

Description:

The primary focus of this internship is to assist our Quality Assurance team with the optimization and framing of our automation testing tools and procedures. Potential candidates for the QA Engineer Internship position should have a general knowledge of quality assurance and an understanding of software development and web-based products. Applicants should be self-motivated, task-oriented individuals with strong communication and organizational skills.

In addition to these professional and technical skills, a successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working for the leader in event management technology solutions for the meetings and events industry. An eagerness to share cutting-edge knowledge acquired in recent classes will be highly regarded.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and design of Certain’s automated testing tools and procedures (using Selenium or something similar)
  • Reproducing, documenting, and prioritizing defects
  • Writing and executing test cases
  • Verification of patches and bug fixes via manual testing

Skills:

  • An understanding of web-delivered applications
  • Familiarity with the Fundamentals of HTML, JavaScript, XML, SQL. Experience with Coldfusion is a big plus

Description:

As a Implementation Services Trainer, you will fill a crucial role for Certain Software as a key team member responsible for the development and execution of training programs. You will use your product knowledge and writing skills to document the product and best practices for use in training scripts, custom training curriculum for onsite customers, tip sheets, and the knowledge base.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage training program and associated curriculum
  • Gather all customer training issues and requests, document and disseminate to the appropriate team
  • Assure quality of Certain training programs and improve offerings based on feedback
  • Mentor new instructors on training delivery and knowledge of content
  • Mentor new employees on key product and internal process concepts

Senior Systems Administrator

Location: San Francisco, CA - HQ

Description:

Certain Software, a leading provider of event management solutions for the global meetings and events industry is seeking an experienced information technology manager to join our team at our San Francisco headquarters.

Certain Software delivers solutions for Fortune 1000 companies as well as the meeting and event planning industry. Certain has over 1800 customers worldwide and provides a comprehensive SaaS and on-premise solution used by millions of event and meeting participants each year.

The senior system administrator will join the Certain IT team on a contract basis. We are looking for someone with 5-7 years experience with Windows systems administration and is versed on windows Server 2003/2008 and have a strong understanding of networking Firewalls and load balancers. This position must have an excellent knowledge of both Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and principles. Additionally, an excellent knowledge of security best practices and their proper implementation is required. The senior systems administrator must have a full and complete knowledge of all modern Microsoft Windows operating systems (both workstation and server) and productivity software. The senior systems administrator must have a working with SQL to support the development team.

Responsibilities:

The Sr. Systems Administrator will report to the Director of IT and will assist the team in doing software upgrades and maintenance.

  • Will work with the global team to do basic systems administration functions such as installs of various windows operating systems and other desktop applications
  • Adequately assess and implement technology needs as they apply to emerging industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Be available to answer questions regarding daily activities, as well as general inquiries involving information technology
  • Assist with the upgrade procedures of Certain’s applications
  • Maintain the network and security of the network on a continuing basis
  • Work closely with all relevant service, software, and hardware vendors
  • Assist with the data and systems installation and migration of the Colo to the managed services provider
  • Provide oversight and guidance to the organization as a whole to satisfy IT needs.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem solver
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN and WAN networking standards and practices
  • 5-7 years of systems administration experience in a Windows environment
  • Be willing to work flexible hours and on-call to accommodate a global support team
  • Experience with ticketing systems for Helpdesk and System Administration
  • Experience with basic systems and network troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent knowledge of best security practices and ability to oversee the implementation of those practices
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Nagios and Wireshark
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems for the server, workstation and the desktop with a focus on server technologies including but not limited to: Exchange, Active Directory, IIS, and Terminal Services
