December 2nd, 2010-Certain Software, the leading provider of event and meeting management solutions, announced today the winner of the 2010 Rising Star Award for Excellence.

Congratulations to Franzika Muelbe of the Central Institute of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.

The Rising Star Award for Excellence is a prestigious award given once a year to a student studying an event management program full time, at a University participating in the Certain Software Rising Star Program.

The prompt of this year’s essay competition was to write a fictional business case to the president of an organization to invest in Certain Events and replace the Excel-based process currently in use. Essays were judged along with teacher recommendations and transcripts, which helped shape each student’s submission.

About 15 students participated this year, and the submissions were very competitive. “Each year we find it very refreshing to read the submissions from students. The submissions are orginal and innovative, and reflect the quality of the programs that Certain Software supports through Rising Star. We were impressed by the professionalism of the students, and wish Franzika Muelbe great luck with her future career as an event professional,” says Certain Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Delerm.
