New date. New location. New goals.
In an ongoing effort to improve Habitat on the Hill and make it more accessible, useful and effective, Habitat for Humanity’s fourth annual advocacy and legislative conference is moving.
Not only will this year’s conference be less expensive and held in the heart of Washington, D.C. but, by meeting with members of Congress early in an election year, Habitat will be in the best position to influence decisions that can help stabilize neighborhoods in communities across the nation.
Attend Habitat on the Hill 2010 and:
• Unlock neighborhood revitalization funding.
• Take the Habitat message to Capitol Hill, which will help you build capacity back home.
• Network with affiliates from across the country that are finding success with NRI activities and partnerships.
• Enjoy the nation’s capital.
Habitat on the Hill 2009 highlights:
More than 180 of Habitat for Humanity’s leaders, allies, supporters, volunteers and advocates attended this 3-day conference. In 4 ½ hours, conference attendees reached 475 congressional offices, meeting with legislators from 42 states. 99.5% of participants felt their meetings with legislators were effective. Fourteen members of Congress attended Habitat’s legislative reception.
“I am much more comfortable picking up the phone or calling on our state, city and county legislator…I confidently ask for what I need.”
