Paul White

In the summer of 2007, whilst most sensible people were preparing for their summer break, Paul found himself working in the FSA’s specialist TCF team developing the training programme to enable supervisors to assess member firms’ progress in delivering the six consumer outcomes. Having rolled out programmes to the first 80+ supervisors, the reins were handed over to the FSA’s internal training function allowing Paul to focus his attention on helping member firms come to terms with the regulator’s requirements.

Since that point, Paul has worked with several firms across a number of the industry’s sectors including banks, building societies, insurance companies and networks and has provided expert support and guidance on various aspects of TCF including risk identification, the development of MI frameworks, and cultural audits. He continues to focus exclusively on this area of regulation and has developed a highly pragmatic and consultative approach to helping firms develop and embed TCF within their organisations.

Kate Davies

Kate Davies joined the Building Societies Association/Council of Mortgage Lenders in December 1991. When the two trade bodies de-merged in December 1996, Kate remained with the CML as the Senior Policy Adviser responsible for the industry’s voluntary Mortgage Code, and later for the implementation of the FSA’s statutory mortgage rules. She left in December 2008 to pursue a new career with a regulatory advisory consultancy. A well-known figure within the industry, Kate was responsible during her time at the BSA/CML for many of the subject areas featured in this course. Her first-hand and wide-ranging knowledge of the issues facing mortgage lenders, experience of working closely with the regulators and major stakeholders, together with her long experience of public speaking, make her an ideal presenter for this course.
