Q: What is the Disneyland® Main Street, U.S.A. Collection?
A: The Disneyland® Main Street, U.S.A. Collection is a series of architectural models representing buildings on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland® park in Anaheim, California. Also offered are some of our Disney characters, icons and vehicles seen in the park.
The collection was started with the notion of creating a Christmas style village, with a working train being able to go around the village. The village would be completed with characters and vehicles to create an interactive architectural model. Through collaborative efforts with Olszewski Studios, headed by renowned miniaturist Robert Olszewski, Disney is proud to present these state-of-the-art reproductions of Main Street, U.S.A.
Each design has been carefully crafted to retain the “magic” of Disneyland® park, exquisitely detailed with special lighting allowing the collector to view the park both at daytime as well as nighttime. The buildings have been created in “Z” scale (1/220th) with doorways and windows enlarged to create the illusion that the vehicles and characters relate to them. Characters and vehicles have been created in “N” scale (1/160th).
The reason behind the two scales is that with “Z” scale for the buildings, we are able to create the entire Main Street, U.S.A. setting that can be placed on a normal 6 foot banquet table. The “N” scale train, characters and vehicles are complimentary pieces to the overall land.
Q: Are the pieces limited?
A: Each release in the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection is considered open stock. The collection is being created as an interactive architectural model, with each piece being more like a memento rather than a traditional collectible or artwork. Even though the pieces are considered open stock, the Resort generally only offers a limited number of each sculpture. Please note that some of the sculptures in this collection may be more limited and harder to find than others.
Q: How are the pieces marked?
A: Each piece has a trademark coin placed on its’ underside. This trademark coin has the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection logo, as well as the name, part number and style mark. It will also carry a First Edition marking, if it is from the first year of production related to that piece. In addition, if you purchase your sculpture on the first day of release, you will receive a special “first day of issue” premier plaque. Please note a limited number of sculptures are available on the first day of release.
Q: How do I ensure that my piece has a “first day of issue” premier plaque?
A: In order to ensure that your piece has a “first day of issue” premier plaque, we recommend that you attend a product release and signing for at the Disneyland® Resort. The “first day of issue” premier plaques are only available in conjunction with the new release. The new release is available to purchase at shop opening (pending operating hours). Sculptures are sold on a first come, first serve basis and are available while supplies last. Often Robert Olszewski will be on hand for a special signing as part of the product release. He and/or his staff are also available to answer any questions related to the program.
Q: How do I get an artist signed piece?
A: We encourage any Guests interested in acquiring a signed piece to attend the scheduled product release and signing with Olszewski. Please note a limited number of sculptures are available on the day of release. Special Guest Artist will only sign their respective pieces. We ask that you bring no personal items to be signed. Artist appearances are subject to space and availability and are not guaranteed. Information subject to change without notice.
Q: How do I make sure that I get a First Edition marked sculpture?
A: We encourage you to purchase the new sculpture or piece on the first day of release and/or shortly thereafter. Even though the First Edition marking should be reflected on any item produced in the first 12 months, there is no guarantee that all orders for that item will be placed in that timeframe.
Q: How do I know when a sculpture is about to be sold out?
A: We ask that you please continue to watch the Robert Olszewski section under Disney Artists Corner on www.DisneyGallery.com in order to receive up to date information on sculptures that are considered low in stock, temporarily out of stock (possibility of being back in stock in the near future) or out of stock.

Q: Will there be a platform created to hold all the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection?
A: Olszewski Studios is in the development of a platform that will allow Guests the opportunity to display their entire Main Street, U.S.A. Collection together into a single display unit. This unit will measure approximately 72 inches by 30 inches and will fit on a standard 6-foot banquet table. The platform is currently scheduled to be released in 2007. Q: Is there going to be a mechanical street available?
A: Olszewski Studios is also in the process of developing a mechanical street. However, there is no current release date scheduled for this piece.
Q: Is there somewhere that I can view the entire collection together?
A: The entire Olszewski collection is available to view at The Disney Gallery located above Pirates of the Caribbean, in New Orleans Square at Disneyland® park. Individual sculptures and accessories can found on display in each of the store locations (Disneyana Shop, Off the Page and World of Disney). Images of the collection however can be found on www.DisneyGallery.com under the Olszweski section of Disney’s Artists Corner.
Q: What is the Commemorative Collection?
A: The Commemorative Collection consists of five attractions that were created in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland® park. One current attraction will represent one of the original lands from 1955. The attractions are as follows are: Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland; Jungle Cruise in Adventureland; Astro Orbitor in Tomorrowland; and Mark Twain Riverboat in Frontierland. Each Commemorative Collection sculpture comes marked with a 50th Anniversary commemorative logo (May 2005 through December 2006). Each piece has been created in the same scale as the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection, so everything can sit together. The Commemorative Collection is considered open stock as well. After the 50th Celebration commences the commemorative logos will be replaced with the appropriate logos from each corresponding land. In addition, due to the overwhelming popularity of our beloved Haunted Mansion attraction, it has been named an honorary “Commemorative Collection” sculpture.
Q: Are any of the Commemorative Collection sculptures part of the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection?
A: Please note that if you are collecting the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection and want to make sure you have all the pieces necessary to complete your collection, then we strongly recommend the Astro Orbitor sculpture from the Commemorative Collection as it will fit alongside the upper end of Main Street.
Q: How do I turn the lights on?
A: Generally a switch will be on the surface of the piece. Below is a list of sculptures and switch locations for each piece:

Sleeping Beauty Castle – switch is found on left side near the back (a tree is provided with the piece to cover the switch).
Central Plaza – switch is found in front near title plaque (a popcorn cart is provided with the piece to cover the switch).
City Hall and Fire Station – switch is a push button covered by a red fire hydrant and can be found in the back of the piece on the right side.
Town Square – switch is found on the left side near the front (a popcorn cart is provided with the piece to cover the switch).
Main Street Station – switch is a push in variety covered by a red fire hydrant and can be found on the right side of the street side of the piece.
Emporium – switch is a push button covered by a red fire hydrant and can be found in the back of the piece.
Crystal Arcade and New Century Jewelry – switch is a push button covered by a red fire hydrant and can be found in the back of the piece.
Carnation Café ~ Bakery ~ Ice Cream Parlor ~ Penny Arcade – switch is a button covered by a red fire hydrant and can be found in the back of the piece.

Q: When will the collection be completed?
A: Currently the Main Street, U.S.A. Collection is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2007 (date subject to change).
Q: Can the lights be changed in the pieces?
A: Yes, the lights can be changed in the pieces. The LED’s should not need be changed as they have a life expectancy of 10,000 hours. The small street lamps have a 1.3mm incandescent bulb and can be changed easily by removing the faux wood base (unscrew the 3 or 4 mounted screws). Pull the lights out from the street lamp from below and clip the wires. Take a new bulb and twist each pair of wires together (keep the positive and negative wires apart using electrical tape). Push the new bulb back up into the lamp post and tape the wires to the piece, so the bulb does not slip back into the post. Put the faux wood base back on the piece. New street lamp bulbs can be purchased at your local hobby shop or from Olszewski Studios at www.olszewskistudios.com.
