MICHAEL SINGER

 

 

Michael Singer is a writer and unit publicist whose books include Bring Me That Horizon: The Making of Pirates of the Caribbean, The Making of Oliver Stone’s Heaven and Earth, and “making of” books for Batman Returns, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, as well as A Cut Above: 50 Film Directors Talk About Their Craft and 14 annual editions of his pre-internet age reference book, Michael Singer’s Film Directors: A Complete Guide.  Singer has also contributed to the books Insight Guide: Japan, Insight Guide: American Southwest, John Woo: Interviews and Nixon: An Oliver Stone Film. 

As a unit (production) publicist, Singer has worked on more than 40 films, among them National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Black Hawk Down, The New World, Something’s Gotta Give, Bruce Almighty, The Bourne Identity, Any Given Sunday, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Jerry Maguire, Nixon, Natural Born Killers, Heaven and Earth and three Batman movies. 

Singer was born and raised in New York City before moving west in 1979.  He is based with wife Yuko and daughters Miyako and Kimiko in Los Angeles, also spending time at residences in Honolulu, Hawaii and Chiang Mai, Thailand.
