ODYSSEY MARINE EXPLORATION
Odyssey Marine Exploration is a world leader in deep-ocean shipwreck exploration and archaeological excavation.
Odyssey is an American Stock Exchange Company (AMEX: OMR) with several shipwreck projects in various stages of development throughout the world. In 2003 and 2004, the company discovered and archaeologically excavated the Civil War era shipwreck of the SS Republic®, which yielded over 51,000 coins and approximately 14,000 artifacts.
The company owns and utilizes state-of-the-art technology including both search and recovery vessels, side-scan sonar equipment, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and other advanced technological innovations. Archaeologists, survey
and ROV technicians, scientists, sailors, researchers, conservationists and support staff are employed by Odyssey to work on various stages of each shipwreck project.
Concurrent with Odyssey’s goals for exploration is the organization’s dedication to protecting the cultural heritage found in deep-ocean shipwrecks and the company’s desire to share the excitement and knowledge gained from deep ocean shipwreck exploration with the public.
Odyssey’s vision is to return the historical, cultural and economic value of shipwrecks to mankind through the application of advanced technology, science and archaeology.
