Chief Executive Officer
Peter is CEO of Certain and has led the Company’s drive to deliver measurable results to enterprise marketers from events. Previously, he was CEO of Native Minds (acquired by Verity); CEO of Kinecta (acquired by Stellent); President, Cognos Corp (acquired by IBM) and SVP Sales Americas for Nuance. Peter’s earlier career included sales and sales executive roles at GE Software.
Peter is on a never ending journey to play jazz piano and create music through improvisation. Peter earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance from Boston College and an MBA degree from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.
Vice President, Engineering
Jasvinder is responsible for managing all facets of software development for Certain’s enterprise event management solutions. Jas brings 20 years of experience building global engineering teams for both start-ups and public companies in Silicon Valley. Prior to joining Certain, Jas held engineering positions at Loc-aid and served as the VP Engineering Operations at Phoenix Technologies.
Jas is quite handy around the house and actually designed and built a gazebo, her most treasured valuable. Jas holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Thapar University.
Vice President, Corporate Sales
Wendy Phillips is in charge of business development at Certain. She joined Certain at the end of 2017 through its acquisition of Gather Digital, a leading provider of branded attendee engagement mobile apps, where she was co-founder and vice president sales & marketing. Previously, Wendy spent thirteen years at venture capital firm, Advent International, the last five as a Partner in the Palo Alto, CA office.
Wendy has a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Vice President, Dev Ops & IT
Gerard Larios brings a wealth of experience ensuring that the Certain platform delivers an outstanding customer experience through superior technology operations. With nearly 20 years of experience in technology operations working with rapid growth companies, his focus is to ensure Certain can meet the rapidly growing demand for greater ROI around events. Key to Gerard is the design and implementation of solutions that enhance the performance, security, and efficiency of Certain’s products.
Gerard enjoys coaching youth soccer, baseball and softball teams. Gerard served four years in the US Marine Corps and did his undergraduate work at San Francisco State University.
Chief Financial Officer
Aleks is responsible for Certain’s finance, accounting, and legal functions. He brings 25 years of private and public company finance experience to Certain, including venture capital backed and Fortune 500 organizations. Prior to joining Certain, Aleks held executive and senior financial management positions at Venturi Wireless, NativeMinds (acquired by Autonomy), Corio, (acquired by IBM), Navigation Technologies (acquired by Nokia), The Ask Group (acquired by Computer Associates), and Compaq Computer (acquired by HP).
Aleks is an avid golfer, history buff and proud supporter of the San Jose Earthquakes. Aleks holds an MBA from San Jose State University.
Douglas E. Goldman
Doug is the Chairman and founder of Certain. His entrepreneurial drive and spirit can be traced to his Levi Strauss family history and one of the world’s great brands.
As a philanthropist, Doug has served on the boards of the Goldman School of Public Policy, Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley, the Goldman Environmental Foundation, and the Goldman Prize Jury. He also serves as President of the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund which makes valuable contributions to a variety of fields including youth, civic affairs, civil and human rights, education, environment and social and Jewish affairs and human services.
