Enabling Our Marketing Efforts to Give Back

american red cross

The month of December is widely recognized by many as the month to give. We find ourselves wanting to give to those who may be less fortunate or battling tough times. Though sometimes we get caught up in the search for the perfect Holiday gift or which cookies will be the office hit, we can lose sight of what giving back is really all about.

With this in mind, and to encourage the spirit of giving within our own networks, we decided to make this a priority in our own marketing efforts. This past December we partnered with our friends at Heinz Marketing to do some primary research to close out 2017.

With each new year, B2B events are more prominent in terms of both lead generation and customer retention. To enable B2B marketers and sellers across the globe to host best-in-class events, we wanted to find out what works and what doesn’t. Thus we created the 2018 State of B2B Event Marketing Benchmark (stay tuned for the report coming in February 2018 – let us know if you are in particular interested in the report!). And, for every survey response completed, we donated $5 to a charity of the responders’ choice within three options: the Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund, the American Red Cross, and the World Wildlife Fund.

Each of these three charities holds a special place for those of us at Certain and Heinz Marketing, as many of us have friends and colleagues in or around the Napa area, know those who have benefited from blood transfusions and are thankful for the beautiful planet we call home.

To learn more about each of these organizations, or to make a donation, see the below descriptions:

Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund

Napa Valley is a place with deep roots and big dreams. A community where we honor tradition even as we branch out boldly in new directions. We have extraordinary assets here, but significant challenges as well. In response to several major Napa County fires that started burning the night of October 8th and have displaced thousands of area residents thus far, Napa Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) has mobilized this Disaster Relief Fund.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We aspire to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope, and everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products. Our purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure the respect for the human being.

World Wildlife Fund

Our mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. Our work is focused around 6 ambition goals with people at the center: food, climate, fresh water, wildlife, forests and ocean. Recognizing that the problems facing our planet are increasingly more complex and urgent, we have refined the way in which we work around an ambitious new strategy. Our new strategy puts people at the center because together we can change the trajectory of the threats to nature, and help ensure nature’s ability to provide—for the sake of every living thing, including ourselves.
